Lubbock County Local Option Election

In 2009 Texas Petition was contacted by the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce to conduct a local option petition for the entire county.  This petition was for all alcohol off premise and paved the way to end a decades old monopoly by the liquor industry in Lubbock County.  Up until 2009 off premise liquor sales was permitted in a small precinct just south of the City of Lubbock widely known as “The Strip.”  On the first day of the petition drive Lubbock County voters stood in line to sign the petition and the signatures were gathered in record time.  The subsequent successful election leveled the playing field for alcohol sales throughout the County.
